ABOUT

Silvia di Furia is an Italian film and TV composer based in Rome, known for her distinctive soundscapes that blend synthesizers, electronic experimentation, and evocative rhythms, rooted in the traditional Neapolitan percussion, to tell stories with deep emotional resonance.

Her recent work includes the scores for Figlio di Giano by Luigi Grispello (Rai Cinema), featured at the Rome Film Festival, the mini series Nathan K. by Alessio Lauria (Rai Play), and the Netflix produced short film, Lauretta’s Diaries by Ilde Mauri, presented at the Venice Biennale.

She is dedicated to translating the story’s emotions into music, which helps her create deeper empathy in her scores. She particularly enjoys crafting intricate soundscapes, electronic textures, and rhythms that perfectly match the visual ideas. This experience and deep commitment allow her to place her music entirely at the service of the story, collaborating closely with directors and producers to realize their specific vision and maximize the emotional impact of the film.

Driven by a lifelong passion for cinematic composition, she holds a Master’s degree in Film Music from the prestigious Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Italian National Film School). Her versatile background includes experience in diverse fields such as video games, film, TV and theater. This versatility is exemplified by her work with a theater company Le Bakkanti that won the Leo de Berardinis Award in 2025, culminating in seven sold out performances at the National Theatre of Naples. In 2023, she participated in the Becoming Maestre mentorship program, an initiative held by Netflix, the David di Donatello Awards, and the Italian Film Academy (Accademia del Cinema Italiano). This broad background has honed her problem solving skills and ensured a rapid learning curve across various projects.
